Electronics

The electronic systems of Canadian Forces (CF) equipment are critical to the safety and efficiency of operations. The Department of National Defence (DND) employs civilians as electronics technicians and technologists for the maintenance, inspection, calibration and installation of these systems. Electronics experts at DND design, develop, and configure the electronic elements of various projects and provide technical advice relating to these projects to DND and outside agencies.

Civilians are also responsible for electronics training and research.

Electronics instructors teach theory and electronic engineering technology to military and civilian employees, develop and prepare lesson plans, instructional training aids and assignments, and evaluate student work and performance.

Electronics researchers provide technical services and advice regarding electronics to scientists, engineers, and project officers and to other government and non-government clients to support research and development.
